RV Travel Log

Downtown Vegas - 12/09/2003

Our first foray into downtown was a smashing success, considering our goal was to get completely blotto. This was the first time in Vegas we didn't feel ripped off by either the price or quality of the drinks & food, and there were a LOT more cocktail waitresses around than on the Strip. The Strip is a rip. Plus we got a groovy lightshow above the street.

Places that were nice to us: Mermaids, The Plaza, Golden Nugget, Lady Luck, Golden Gate, La Bayou, and Sam's Town for providing a shuttle back to our RV.

Comments:

All prices listed INCLUDE tips but exclude gambling losses. I apparently had a lot of Jack & Cokes. The Blushing Lady was a splurge and we didn't know we could keep the glasses until the bartender asked us if we wanted a clean one. They're quite nice. The fried Twinkie was a bad idea, and topping off the evening with a half yard daiquiri was an even worse idea. We had much more fun downtown than on the Strip... but that might have just been the cheap booze.
