RV Travel Log

Leaving Las Vegas - 02/03/2004

Has it really been 2 months now that we've spent in Vegas? How did that happen? Well, anyway, we went home for 2 weeks over Christmas but otherwise have been hanging out in Las Vegas. It's not a bad place to hang out, really. Cheap food, entertainment everywhere, lots of fun things going on.

However, it's not the safest city, apparently. Erin's purse was stolen from a casino back in December, and our bikes were stolen off the back of the RV while we were in St. Louis for Christmas. We had the RV in an RV storage lot, which had a chain-link fence around it, plus another fence around the whole property. There's a guard on duty 24 hours a day. Yet in spite of all this, someone came in with bolt cutters and yanked our bikes. Fishy, if you ask me. Fortunatley my insurance sufficiently covered the bikes and Erin's cell phone (in her purse).

I've been bad about updating these travel logs so I'll try to fill in the holes with interesting things from Vegas. We're leaving Las Vegas because I have an interview with Sammy Studios in Carlsbad, CA. This is in northern San Diego county. We've never been to southern California before and have mixed feelings about it. Sammy looks like a great place.
